Hong Kong City Hall, Central|Hong Kong Sinfonietta - Cellomania:Nicolas Altstaedt Plays Walton

Description
With his profound interpretation and captivating tone, the French-German cellist Alstad possesses extraordinary talent and is known as the king of superb cello skills. In addition to frequently collaborating with well-known orchestras and conductors, he has also been appreciated by violin master Gan Qidong and conductor Fischer, and succeeded as artistic director of the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival in Austria and the Haydn Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany respectively. Alstad will once again collaborate with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, under the direction of Music Director Bo Peng, to perform the Cello Concerto by British composer Walton. This piece of music places extremely high demands on the soloist. The introspective and secretive atmosphere it creates is unique, leading music fans into an endless musical realm. In addition, the orchestra will also perform "Afterimage Instrument" by the new generation composer Naoki Sakata, who has won the Japanese Toru Takemitsu Composition Award and the Irino Composition Award, as well as Beethoven's Second Symphony.
